What makes a woman value a man…more than herself?

Josie, a young, voluptuous woman living in Washington, D.C. is smart, witty, and creative. She also dreams of starting her own satirical greeting card company but struggles with low self-esteem. Her ex, Quill, a charismatic man from the Caribbean, is sensual as hell—but he’s also selfish, has more baggage than a woman packing like she’s never coming back, and he has no ability to commit to a real relationship.

Josie figures moving to a city that embraces diversity overload would be an exciting change from her small-town upbringing. But life continues to be complicated. First, Josie rebounds into the arms of Chino, a Cuban national who wants a green card and whose manipulative ways are camouflaged with the pretense of love. Then, when Josie becomes pregnant, she hopes it will change their relationship for the better and help her forget Quill—but unexpected events shake her to the core.

Will Josie become a victim of her upbringing or a survivor of her current environment?
